The saga continues …

No need to repeat the messages regarding Google, Picasa etc.  Earlier this month the slide show system stopped.  Not wholly surprising, I’m not really sure what will stop working when Picasa shuts down in May, although all indications are that 12 years of photo albums will be fine.

So I figured to replace the slide shows from the beginning of 2015 with movies; easy to do in Picasa. But, the movies are in .wmv format which is fine but isn’t supported on Apple devices. So, I converted them to the more portable .mp4; but, as I found out, not all .mp4 files will run on Ipads; so, I figured, the slide shows haven’t run on Ipads for 14 years, no point in working more on this for 2015 only.  Finally, and unaccountably; the slide shows started working again.

Moving forward, I’ll be adding a movie file to the blog, the photos are degraded quite a bit but that allows the movie to load in a reasonable period of time.  Eureka, they load on Apple devices, they don’t look great but it is better than nothing.
