{"id":4038,"date":"2022-12-25T16:20:33","date_gmt":"2022-12-25T21:20:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abelfamily.ca\/wordpress\/?p=4038"},"modified":"2023-08-11T22:21:48","modified_gmt":"2023-08-12T03:21:48","slug":"holiday-season-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abelfamily.ca\/wordpress\/holiday-season-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Holiday Season"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Readers of the blog will remember that it was our tradition to move into the hotel for around 5 days, Sam and Trevor moved in for 2 or 3 days leaving on Christmas Eve for Trevor&#8217;s parents; I would remain to mid day Boxing Day.  This year I scheduled to fly 4 or more flights on Christmas Day to keep the tradition going.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Weather<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What a strange weather pattern over most of North America.  Virtually no snow accumulations here, 35 minutes away, travelers took shelter in a Walmart for 30 hours, snow clearance was impossible and a state of emergency declared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Flights Suspended<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With all that, flying on Christmas Day was possible but airport snow clearance was dicey and winds are still high.
