It is quite tough to hold an outdoor birthday event in early January so for the last 2 years, Mumtaz&#8217;s birthday has been &#8230; under celebrated, even by our collective standard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Of course, we rescheduled the celebration to a weekend, Sam and Trevor arrived on Friday evening.  The party on Saturday followed our New Years&#8217; Eve template: no official meals; plentiful hors d&#8217;oeuvres, snacks, drinks and deserts; movies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Having overeaten on Saturday, we cancelled the large lunch planned for Sunday and by late afternoon, Sam and Trevor were gone, the celebrations wound to a close.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One negative is that a heavy legacy crystal pitcher fell on my foot, no break but I did suffer from Fred Flinstone foot which is painful, so I went for x-rays and anti-inflammation medicine and as I write this everything is back to normal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sam took a series of photos at the cake cutting, click on the photo below for more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/1drv.ms\/u\/s!Au3VUupWkxOXjc1-m_f8LGien6dqzA?e=L8K3C5\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2268\" height=\"4032\" src=\"https:\/\/onedrive.live.com\/embed?resid=97139356EA52D5ED%21222975&amp;authkey=%21AF_1_lRq19yVOZI&amp;width=2268&amp;height=4032\"><\/a> <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It is early January which means Mumtaz&#8217;s birthday.
