Vacation 2015 – Post 4
We move on to Havre Maison. Lots of good photos because this is the hilliest island in the group. There is a herring fishery and plant. One of their products is actually tasty (I’m not much of a fan of herring) so we bought some. The bakery on the main road is, of course, fabulous. The islands have a unique cuisine, interesting spice blends, unusual techniques. If you visit, do your best to sample as much local food as possible.

Our flight to Mirabel took about 3 3/4 hours. It was challenging but there was a safe route between 2 nasty weather systems, we spent well over an hour in the clouds and rain, very cool. We flew from Mirabel quite a bit during the Moscow days; it was sad to see it so deserted today. Pilots going through the photos, don’t worry, the first 2000 feet of the runway were closed while we visited, that is why the approach looks so odd.

We spent 3 1/2 days hiking, swimming, relaxing and eating at Mont Tremblant north of Montreal.
