Trip to Daytona Beach in CGWBO
For the last three years, I’ve had the pleasure of delivering the plane that I’m flying to Spruce Creek near Daytona Beach. This year, the flight was later than usual and coincided with my 60th birthday which was excellent. Mumtaz came along and we all had a great time.
CGWBO performed splendidly as always. The total flying time to Spruce Creek was 6 hours and that was with an unfortunate head wind. Mumtaz and I hopped to Buffalo for customs, took about 15 minutes. We stopped at Winston Salem, North Carolina after a smooth flight with about 20 minutes of IFR. The airport was quite good but there was no food close by so it was a crew car to a restaurant in downtown. The second leg was excellent, overtop of an overcast but in brilliant sunshine.
We spent 2 1/2 days in the Daytona area. Spruce Creek is, without a doubt, the place where every pilot wished s/he lived.
All the photos were taken with the pocket camera.
