It was an interesting summer in St. Catharines, in fact for all communities on Lake Ontario due to very high water levels for most of the summer (it wasn’t totally a natural phenomenon by the way). We were expecting the new beach pavilion in Port Dalhousie at the beginning of the summer but since most of the park was flooded, they couldn’t complete the construction.  Better late than never.

We used to visit Frado’s restaurant for Friday dances; sometimes, we even ordered from their largely Italian menu.  Sadly Frado’s sold out and closed.  The new owners renovated and reopened as a Greek restaurant.  We visited and weren’t impressed but never discount the great location on the shore of the Welland Canal as you can see from this photo taken through the window next to our table.
