It is early January which means Mumtaz’s birthday. It is quite tough to hold an outdoor birthday event in early January so for the last 2 years, Mumtaz’s birthday has been … under celebrated, even by our collective standard.

Of course, we rescheduled the celebration to a weekend, Sam and Trevor arrived on Friday evening. The party on Saturday followed our New Years’ Eve template: no official meals; plentiful hors d’oeuvres, snacks, drinks and deserts; movies.

Having overeaten on Saturday, we cancelled the large lunch planned for Sunday and by late afternoon, Sam and Trevor were gone, the celebrations wound to a close.

One negative is that a heavy legacy crystal pitcher fell on my foot, no break but I did suffer from Fred Flinstone foot which is painful, so I went for x-rays and anti-inflammation medicine and as I write this everything is back to normal.
