Winter and Early Spring

As always seems to happen, there isn’t much reason to take photos after Groundhog Day so there is a lull in activity on the blog.

Trips Not Taken

Flying wrapped up sort of unexpectedly in January, should resume in May as new aircraft are brought on line.

In the interim there was talk of a couple of great aircraft deliveries. The more likely was a pick up in Corona California and a flight across the U.S. West and Mid West. The deal fell through at an advanced stage, very disappointing. The second was a delivery to Fairbanks Alaska(!), not very enthusiastic due to paperwork and insurance, ultimately turned it down.

Trips Taken

On the other hand 2 great trips one to help drop off a plane to Florida then a trip to return the plane.

Outside of Flying

A great trip to Ottawa in March; a fabulous trip to Ottawa with an upgrade to the exec floor at Lac Leamy(!). Great stop in Kingston as well and really enjoyed driving Highway 15 from Kingston to Ottawa via Smith Falls. Also enjoyed catching up with the Roshen, Nuroz, and Zul.

After Ottawa, we proceeded to Montreal. Yasmin arrived from Vancouver and we visited Rehana, Naeem and kids. Rehana and Naeem left for a week in Milan, I left after a couple of days, Mumtaz stayed on for a week.

Pi Day

Mumtaz was in Montreal for Pi Day and they held a great Circle Measuring Party. Mumtaz did take a few photos, if I can clean them up enough, I’ll amend this entry.

Yasmin Visits

Yasmin arrived from Montreal for a week’s visit and we had a terrific time including a day in Toronto.

Sam’s Birthday

Sam and Trevor visit for a day to visit with Yasmin. It was a week before Sam’s birthday so we held a party, Mumtaz baked a giant cookie. This is becoming the gold standard for birthday celebrations. Shockingly, no photos from the party, we were having too much fun.

Fred Flinstone Foot

Or what happened to me when when I dropped a unpardonably heavy crystal pitcher on my foot as part of the preparations for Sam’s party. Pretty painful but got great care from my doc’s office and it was over in about 4 days.

Looks like a busy summer coming, stay tuned.
