Haute Goat III
You may recall Haute Goat I which was related to Trevor’s birthday, then Haute Goat II which was a weekend getaway in the rentable cabin on the site. This year Mumtaz, Sam, Trevor and I went to Haute Goat for Fathers’ Day.
Haute Goat is Southern Ontario’s premium goat experience; it is a farm near Port Hope, Ontario.
Ever since the Fathers’ Day St. Catharines Duck Race was cancelled by the Kiwanis Club a few years ago, we have celebrated Fathers’ Day on a weekend close to but not precisely on Fathers’ Day. This year we celebrated on the week after. We started with a great brunch in a restaurant near Sam and Trevor’s apartment. We then rushed to Haute Goat because Sam and Trevor had booked a “shmergle” for us and you must absolutely be on time for a shmergle. The goats love the shmergle, they are released from the pen to graze in open fields; the humans get to chase them around, then help them getting back to there homes afterwards. Later, we spend time in a sort of play area. There is a great restaurant, we loved the goat soft ice cream. We finished the day with a meal at our favourite Chinese restaurant. As always thanks to Mumtaz, Sam and Trevor for planning everything. As odd an activity as this seems, it is a great family afternoon which we highly recommend.
