2019, Sam, Trevor, What

Autumn Update

Yes, I have neglected the web site over the last few months. I’ve referenced a few events in the soon to be released New Years’ Card that are not mentioned in the blog.

In early September, Sam and Trevor flew to Moncton, rented a car and drove on to Prince Edward Island on vacation. Very cool but throughout their stay, we were all watching Hurricane Dorian approach New Brunswick and PEI. Okay, by the time the storm hit PEI, it was reduced to a post hurricane tropical storm, Sam and Trevor report that their rental cabin was quite sturdy but they prepared well for power and access interruptions and they allowed plenty of time to get back to Moncton for their return flight. The aftermath of the storm was not exactly benign, authorities reduced speed on the Confederation Bridge to 40km/hour and the trip was hair raising. All PEI and New Brunswick communities were affected. Moncton was virtually locked down. That said, the only vacation objective missed was a play in Charlottetown. By all accounts the region has bounced back. We were quite worried, sections of the Bahamas were flattened beyond repair.

Cindy visits for a week to help us finalize the plans for our long awaited home renovation. We all had a lot of fun and all plans were finalized successfully. We hope to see Cindy back in 2020.

We have been working on the house over the last year and half, the roof, deck and furnace have been redone. In mid-November, basement excepted, we repainted, replaced all floors, replaced the kitchen counters, backsplash and sink. There are a lot of before and after photos but I’m not really interested in the effort of correcting and posting. Suffice to say that we are very happy with the results.
