Albion Falls is one of several waterfalls in the Hamilton area. Lake Erie is about 100 meters higher than Lake Ontario which is the essential reason for Niagara Falls, the Niagara River traverses between Lake Erie and Lake Ontario with the most spectacular effect. The transition from Lake Erie elevation to Lake Ontario elevation is called the Niagara Escarpment and it is hundreds of kilometers long ending at Tobermory.
