Nothing serious, of course but watch for new methods in presenting photo albums with the next presentation.

WARNING TECH TALK AND HISTORICAL PERSPECTIVE AHEAD

From time to time I like to restate the point of my efforts on Abelfamily.ca. There are 3 specific objectives to all this:

1. “Social Media” – I’m a firm believer in individuals cultivating their own presence on the Internet. I’m not a fan of the Social Media paradigm where, for example, you log on to Facebook and are bombarded with the general opinions of everyone that you know. If someone is interested in what I choose to post, you are welcome to log in to abelfamily.ca and look.
2. Photo Albums – This is clearly what most of abelfamily.ca is about; similar to point 1, why force people to look at photo albums when you can make them available to anyone that is truly interested.
3. Skill Set – Originally abelfamily.ca was created with HTML programming, evolving to linking 3rd party photo systems, then migrating to WordPress, then converting exclusively to blog pages. There are easier ways to achieve objectives 1 and 2; but, I’m also interested in maintaining or improving whatever skills I have in this area.

So the big change is that we are going back to slide shows. There are many new methods available for video editing and it is time to delve into them. You will also see video incorporated into the slide show presentations.

The first results are okay, although, in one case, I expect to redo the editing after publishing. I’ll look forward to any comments; coming up next are the photos from our trip Rome and cruise back to New York City.
