Sigh … Photo Problems Again
I suppose that I should be happy that the current methods for managing photos have worked well for 6 years. Alas, Microsoft is acknowledging that the embed feature associated with OneDrive is no longer working properly. Unlike when Google did something perhaps a little more profound, this all happened without warning. Good news for me is that this is only affecting current and future work; existing blog pages do not require reengineering, they are working well.
WARNING: TECH TALK AHEAD
This problem relates to embedding. When you view a photo on the blog, you are actually surfing to its location on One Drive. This is achieved by inspecting the photo in its location on OneDrive and generating code for the website. This method is no longer generating useable code. It is a known problem but no solutions are on the horizon. I’m investigating alternatives as well. I will continue to publish blog posts without photos, links to the content still work well.
