We made a short trip to Decew Falls south of St. Catharines.

The park is significant due to the ruins of a large house on the site. Check out the story of Laura Secord in the war of 1812, she made her way on foot to Decew Falls overnight to alert the garrison that American troops had invaded at Queenston Heights. You can retrace her steps on the Laura Secord Trail. The Bruce Trail passes through Decew Falls as well, on its way to Tobermory on the Bruce Peninsula.
